What sets this book apart from others of a similar vein are two things: 1) the author brings you right into the session with her and the client, transcribing actual dialogues; and 2) the self-care techniques are really easy and useful. Intutive self-healing is really about “tuning in” to what is going on in our body directly, and also what the surrounding emotional energies are that may be contributing to having a particular physical experience. The author gives a comprehensive explanation of the chakra system and goes into detail about how to use each chakra for intuitive healing self-analysis; she guides us through energetic preventative care, and teaches how to tune in to our unique vibrational signals for reading and working with subtle energies. What didn’t work for me so much were the dialogues between client and healer: they really sounded too pat, almost scripted, and I found myself distracted by wondering if this was truly how the clients responded to Marie’s unconventional approaches—it really seemed too easy and seamless, even when the client was “resisting.” Perhaps the ease I perceived is simply a testimony to the effectiveness of the author and her work. The self-care exercises alone make this book worthwhile, and reading this book will certainly add value to your understanding and “toolkit” for taking an active role in well being.
